Congested reddish-brown leaves emerge in the spring turning purple-brown for the summer months. Yellow to red fall colors. This maple grows similar to 'Mikawa yatsubusa' becoming a stubby, bushy maple to 4 ft. Full sun to part shade in well-drained soil. Zone 5. This maple was discovered from Masayoshi Yano of Japan.
