Known for its beautiful bright, crimson foliage in the spring similar to 'Corallimum' but with a pinker hue. In the summer, the leaves turn light green and fall brings yellow with a hint of orange. Small leaves make this a wonderful plant for bonsai culture. This is a small tree with a rounded head and rather bushy growing to 6 ft. Sun or part shade in well-drained soil. Zone 5. The name means "dark blue-green".
