AKA KAWA HIME-2 gallon heavy

This is a smaller form of 'Sango Kaku'. It was selected by Del Louks of Del's Japanese Maple Nursery. Doesn't seem to be as strong as 'Sango Kaku' and will burn in the cold winter winds. Yellow-green spring foliage turns to a nice fresh green for the summer months. In the fall, the colors turn yellow, gold and red. The bright coral-red stems add excellent winter interest. Great for containers and small gardens since the tree will only reach about 10 ft at maturity. The name means "small red bark". Sun to part shade in well-drained soil. Zone 5 with protection
