EMPEROR ONE 2 gallon heavy

Discovered by Richard Wolff of Red Maple Nursery in Pa., this outstanding red cultivar is a replacement for "Bloodgood.". It leafs out two weeks later than "Bloodgood" which makes it a better choice for colder climates where late frosts are a problem. Holds color well in sun or shade and turns a dark crimson red in the fall. Leaves are thin making the color brighter in the sunlight. Large tree reaching 20 to 30 ft. at maturity. Upright, rounded form. Sun/shade in well-drained soil. Zone 5.
