A really neat looking odd-leaved maple with leaves that are deeply lobed with string-like lobes on one side and possibility crinkly looking on the others. Others may have dissected looking leaves and sometimes regular palmate leaves that should be taken out. The main color is a nice fresh green. In the fall the leaves will turn reddish orange or crimson. This maple will grow less than 6 1/2 ft. Kaba means "hippopotamus" named after the nursery that discovered this cultivar, John Gibbons of Hippopottering Nursery, near Doncaster, England. Limited and rare. Sun/part shade in well-drained soil. Zone 5.
