Best known Japanese maple in the landscape field. Burgundy red leaves turn brilliant scarlet color in the fall. Medium sized upright tree reaching 15-20 ft high and 15 ft wide at maturity. Oval shape with an open airy feel. A lot of maple sold as 'Bloodgood' are from Bloodgood seedlings. Seedlings may not come out true. This is a graft from an original 'Bloodgood' maple. Sun to partial shade in well-drained soil. Zone 5.
