Small irregularly shaped leaves that emerge pinkish orange in the spring changing to a dark maroon leaf with a green overcast. Will have more color if grown in full sun. New growth in the summer is bright red. This contrasts well amongst the older leaves. Originating from a witches' broom
in NJ, this maple grows into a rounded ball which will eventually reach 5 ft. tall and 3 ft wide. Autumn color is brilliant crimson. Sun/part shade in well-drained soil. Zone 5
