Beautiful reticulated seedling from 'Aka Shigitatsusawa' that was discovered by the late Harry Olsen. Similar in growth habit to 'Aka Shig' becoming a willowy upright small tree. Not sure of exact size at maturity. Leaves emerge strawberry-pink with a silver frost overcast. As the leaf matures it will become strawberry-red with green mid-veins and in the heat of the summer it will fade a little but still hold the strawberry hue. The leaf doesn't turn green. Best in morning sun and afternoon shade to not washout the color and but can be grown in full sun. Fall color is pink. This is a beautiful tree to add to any collection. Slow-growing
